Near Misses treats the body as a site of conflict. The piece delves into experiences at the edge of illness, transformation, and physical collapse. A succession of actions gradually unfolds, weaving together spoken word, symbolic objects of protection, and heightened physical states. Through gestures at once brutal and precise, gargoyle-like facial expressions, and the activation of self-defense postures, the performance reveals a relentless composition oscillating between silence and fury.
The performer is accompanied by a set of portable metallic objects—at once burdens and bodily extensions. Together, they generate a vocal and sonic altar, slowly unveiling an overexposed gesture of liberation and resilience within chaos.
